HEALTH CENTRE

Fit-out of an existing Gymnasium to create new Student Medical Health and Counselling facility, within the Athlone Campus of Technical University of the Shannon. The intimate nature of the programme demanded cellular rooms within a deep plan with one external wall on a minimum budget and time frame, as works had to be completed during summer months. Large door vision panels borrow light into the corridors, set at a lower but wider than normal position, obscuring eye contact. The colour palette has been chosen to emphasize a slightly domestic character, with some maple architraves and beads in locations where it might be appreciated.
